Abstract Submission

Registrar Authors are invited to submit abstracts for acceptance at UKGOM 2025.

Please note that abstract submissions are open to career Registrars in oncology or gynae-oncology ONLY.  This individual needs to be the lead author and is required to attend UKGOM 2025.  Please DO NOT submit an abstract if you are unable to attend the Meeting.

Selected abstracts will be chosen for an oral presentation or as posters. The acceptance of an abstract does not include congress registration.

To submit your abstract, please download the submission form below and send it to ukgom@medconcept.org by Sunday, 31st August 2025.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT

UKGOM encourages submission of original Registrar-driven research projects and those with adequate data to assess the results and interpret the conclusions. The project should substantially be the own work of the submitting Registrar. Case reports are not accepted.

Every abstract should be reviewed by a consultant before submission.

The deadline for abstract submission is midnight August 31st, 2025. Please do not post your abstract—it can only be submitted electronically via the form below.

Those Registrar authors with accepted abstracts will then be given further instructions about the abstract format for the meeting.

 

Important:
UKGOM does not accept abstracts that have been written by a medical writer on behalf of the author.

Please ensure that co-authors have reviewed the abstract and are aware of the submission.

 

Evaluation:
All submitted abstracts will be assessed by the Review Panel. There is no limit on the number of abstracts being a
ccepted.

All correspondence will be sent to the submitting author.

The abstract evaluation notification will be sent out on September 16th, 2025.

 

Preparing the Abstract:
Abstract submissions should NOT include scientific tables, symbols or diagrams and should not exceed 300 words (excluding references).

The content should be arranged STRICTLY under the following headings: PURPOSE - METHODS - RESULTS – CONCLUSION - REFERENCES
The results should contain adequate data to assess and interpret the conclusions. Case reports are not accepted.

References should be identified in the text using square brackets, and numbered and listed consecutively at the end of the paper in the order in which they are first cited in the text. Within reason, the word count excludes the references listed. The Vancouver style needs to be used.
(Author(s) – Family name and initials. Title of article. Title of journal – abbreviated publication year, month, day (month & day only if available); volume (issue):pages). 

If you are providing references and there are more than six authors on a reference, then the first six author names should be listed, followed by ‘et al’.

Abstracts will not be edited following submission. Please therefore carefully check that your abstract is correct before submitting.

 

Presentation Format:
Authors with accepted abstracts will be advised of the format required for the meeting.
